Laser Lines
Change the game to real time multiplayer (no AI), quick match making, keep game play, UI the same
Switching to real‑time multiplayer will keep the core neon‑trail gameplay while adding dynamic player interactions and quick matchmaking for an engaging shared experience.
make sure to correctly implement the real time multiplayer logic
The real‑time multiplayer upgrade will make matches more engaging by letting players face off live opponents while keeping the classic TRON gameplay intact.
Spawn both players at different locations (random) at the start of each game. Make sure there is at least 100px offset to each spawn location and user default move direction is different (left, right, down, up)
The random spawn positions with a 100 px separation and distinct initial movement directions will create clearer, more dynamic starts and reduce immediate collisions.
double check both player move logic and spawn logic, there is a random red dot moving that has nothing to do with both players
The updates will ensure each player starts from a distinct random position with unique initial directions and eliminate the stray red dot, resulting in clearer, synchronized multiplayer gameplay.
change game name to Laser Lines
Looks good—renaming the game will clearly reflect the new theme.
On game over make sure to close out of client connection
The added client disconnect on game over will cleanly end sessions and prevent lingering connections.
While user is waiting for opponent show "Waiting for opponent..."
The added “Waiting for opponent…” screen will clearly inform players they’re in matchmaking, improving the overall user experience.
Attempt to improve server latency, for example if no user input (direction change) the game can assume the user is moving in the same direction at the same speed until a movement update from other user
Continuously sending movement updates and locally extrapolating the opponent’s position will smooth out network latency and make the gameplay feel more responsive.
change opposing player to Red (red line) without changing core gameplay (just update opponent line color)
Changing the opponent's line to red will make it much clearer to differentiate the two players during matches.
Use a fixed 5000×5000 world coordinate system. Player camera is centered and zoomed in to show only a portion of the map. Keep world scale and gameplay consistent across all devices — only the viewport adjusts based on screen size.
The fixed world with a centered, zoomed camera will keep gameplay consistent while adapting the visible area to any device size.
remove "wrap around" and show clear game borders. If player hits a border they lose
Removing wrap‑around and adding solid borders will make the arena feel more finite and add clear stakes when reaching the edge.
reduce the world size (2000x2000) while keeping everything else the same
Reducing the world size will make matches quicker and keep the action tighter without affecting any existing mechanics.
increase player speed by just a little bit
Increasing the player speed slightly will make the game feel more responsive while keeping the core mechanics intact.
using the ads SDK (window.PlayMyGame.SDK), trigger an interstitial ad call on game over
The slight increase to base speed should make the controls feel more responsive without disrupting the game’s balance.
